ABOUT

COLLECTA is a bespoke art agency with a global vision. Co-Founders, Alexis Klein Sarfati and Livia Carpeggiani, have known each other for over a decade and share experience at the highest level inside major international auction houses and galleries.
Our expertise and services range from building thoughtful, cohesive art collections to accessing specific works of art, organizing museum loans, strategizing and managing the sale process as well as negotiating third party guarantee opportunities at auction. Collecta was launched with the vision of supporting collectors through the entire spectrum of the art world rather than just in transactions. Our focus is on building and evolving collections over time, where we always put the collector’s interest first and think strategically about acquiring and selling art.
THE TEAM
During her tenure in the auction world, most recently as Senior Specialist and Head of Private Sales of Post-War and Contemporary Art for the Americas at Christie’s, Alexis played an integral role in launching and developing this area for the auction house. While she specializes in many preeminent artists of the Post-War period, Alexis has a reputation for her unique vision, seeking out works by undervalued artists, and establishing new markets both publicly and privately. Alexis has built formidable relationships with top collectors, curators, gallerists, and auction house specialists worldwide.

Alexis began her career at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, and has maintained an in-depth focus on collections spanning from Los Angeles to Chicago to New York, and internationally. Alexis is based in New York, where she lives with her husband and two children. She is a dual French-American citizen and also speaks Italian fluently. Alexis received a BA with Honors in Art History from Northwestern University in Chicago in 2006. Alexis is a member of the American Friends of the Israel Museum.
Livia most recently worked as Senior Director at Almine Rech in London playing a key role in opening both the gallery’s London spaces in 2014 and 2016. During Livia’s tenure at Almine Rech, she oversaw the gallery’s program and worked on museum quality exhibitions in the gallery’s locations worldwide, including Jeff Koons (2016), Tom Wesselmann (2019) and Günther Förg (2015 and 2018), while developing close relationships with living artists and estates, curators, collectors and gallerists.

Prior to Almine Rech, Livia worked at Christie’s London where she focused on Post-War Italian art, most notably the celebrated collection Eyes Wide Open: An Italian Vision at Christie’s. Livia began her career in New York working for Gladstone Gallery, Paula Cooper and non-profit organization Performa as well as The Peggy Guggenheim Museum in Venice.

Livia is based in London, where she lives with her husband. She is an Italian citizen and lived in New York, Venice and Paris.
